Great Collections = Great Universities

History professor Donald Goldstein, a renowned expert on Pearl Harbor, donated his trove of World War II documents, photos and other artifacts – appraised at $890,000 – to the school last month. Goldstein made his total donation worth an even million by adding $110,000 in cash, making him one of 198 donors who gave $1 million or more since the fundraising campaign began in 1997.

Goldstein, 75, who has taught at the school since 1974, gave 4,400 books, 13,000 photos – including some of Adolf Hitler – 300 films and videotapes, and transcripts of interviews with 200 Japanese and Americans involved in the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941.
